2nd Annual Daddy and Mackenzie Birthday PCB Trip

Because you and Daddy have birthday's one day apart and on a major holiday weekend, Daddy asked if we could go to the beach for the 2nd year in a row.  Of course, we didn't even have to think about it and thankfully, we're able to hop in the car and go.  We did our usual leave after Daddy gets home from work on Thursday and stay until late Monday trip.  The weather couldn't be more perfect.  We enjoyed the last beach trip of the year and celebrated two very special people.  :)

Dinner at one of our favorite hole in the wall beach "restaurants".
 Birthday Peeps!

To be 4 again.  This girl jumped her little heart out.
And this big guy spent the day chasing after the birds.
I would love to know what they were discussing.

Nolan, you sat on Daddy's legs and were fast asleep.

The birthday girl needed a nap as well.

Mackenzie is 4!

Mackenzie, you are the light of our lives.  You're the most animated child we know and I'm not just saying that.  You bring laughter to sad days, you give hugs when their needed and wanted, and you love without being told.
You're becoming such a young lady.
You're prissy, yet outgoing.
You're independent, yet loving.
You're kind, yet oh so strong willed (I believe this will get you far in life).
You're a lover of bugs (but they must be cute), yet you're not a fan of getting dirty.
You love all things crafty and have such a vivid imagination.
You hate when your pants or shirts are too long and demand your shirt "sleebs" or pant legs to be "puffed" up.
Speaking of clothes, you get so excited when you can turn your clothes "inside outside".
You love to wear mommy's "ha-heel" shoes.
You wake up knowing exactly what you want to wear and on most days, we compromise.  Except on Fridays.  Those days, you can wear whatever you want within reason.  I.E. No bathing suits and cowboy boots.
Your favorite thing to ask right now is, "what are we doing next?"
You recently hurt your toe and told Gramma that you "scammed" your toe.  Sweetheart, it was hard not to laugh at you.
You love the "uppingside down" building at Nanny and Papa's beach.  You're favorite store is "Puglix" because you get a cookie.

Mackenzie's 4th Birthday Chuck E Cheese Style

Ever since we visited Chuck E Cheese for Nolan's birthday, you sweet girl, were pretty determined to have your birthday there as well.  (Despite being told over and over again that Disney would be MUCH more fun).  I digress.  We celebrated with a few of your friends.  Mind you, we just came home from a weekend at the beach, and we had your Daddy's birthday the next day, and we went on a week night.

Chowing down on some pizza.  :)  And wearing your birthday hat from school.
 Fearless, I tell ya.  ;)
 Cooper whackin' a mole.
 BEST buds.
 Andrew and Mr. Keith
 Paying with the trains.
You're a 4 year old girl.  You got a lot of girlie things.
A bag of Disney Princesses from Mommy and Daddy.
The Sword and the Stone DVD from Daddy.
A fun Little Mermaid game from Mommy and Daddy.

And the toy you've talked about for months...
 could it be...
 "Poppa" Pig it is!!!!
More princess gifts from Aunt Carmen, Uncle Brandon and Coop.

Nail polish, lip gloss, and press on nails.   Oh my!

 Princess purse with accessories!

 A Cinderella dress!!!!
A very happy girl, you were.
Blurry, but blowing out your cup cake.  How are you FOUR already?

Nolan, you enjoyed the treats as well.

Mack and Ashley, friends since before birth.
Cooper was such a good sport with all the girlie things!  And I just love this kid.
We had a great time with great friends.

Our First Day of Preschool 2012

On August 27, 2012, we all started our first day of school, or as Nolan calls it, "sool".  I was offered a position to work in the infant room the same 3 days a week that you, Mack were registered for, and because of that, my boss offered Nolan the same 3 days!  Happy, happy times!  Mackenzie, you thrive when you have a schedule and routine.  The summer was fun, traveling and being lazy, swimming, and hanging out with friends, but as the summer was coming to an end, we were having some behavioral issues.  School is such a blessing for you.  You LOVE it unlike your Uncle Matt, but that's a different story for a different day.  :)  You asked every day when we were going back to school, and the day finally arrived!  You helped me pick out clothes for you and Nolan and you were very specific on how you wanted your hair.

Nolan, you on the other hand, were about to get your world rocked.  You were so excited to be going, but I knew deep down that it was going to be a hard adjustment for you, and it has been.  You're on the same hall as me, but you don't know it.  I can hear you crying for me and it breaks my heart.  We just finished week 3 and you finally stopped crying (and kicking) at drop off, so I'm hoping this is all behind us.  Your teachers are Ms. Maria and Ms. Paige and you just adore them.  Even crying, you hug and love on them.

I love you, my silly, silly boy.
Mackenzie, because you have a funky birthday, we opted to put you in a regular 3's class instead of the young 4's.  The young 4's and regular 4's basically have the same curriculum and I was worried that you would get bored with doing that for 2 years.  You're the oldest in your class, but you're a natural born leader, and you are such a big helper.  Your teachers are Mrs. MacMillan and Ms. Jamie and we are so happy that you have them.  They are a perfect fit for you and you love all the crafts that you do everyday!
