She's a Beauty

You're a beauty, one in a million girls, you're a beauty.
Yes, you dressed yourself and you thought you looked absolutely beautiful.  You're 3 and 1/2 and think as long as you're wearing matching colors, that you in fact match.  Well, there's some truth to that.  Yes, pink on pink does match, however, different shades of pink with all different designs...not so much.

You just love, love, love to pick out your own clothes for the day, and for the most part, you DO go out in public like this.  You've been many o' places with butterfly wings on, you wear your "Dorofee" shoes like it's no one's business even when you're not wearing a lick of red.  And for the love of stockings, the more colorful, the better.  And I love it.

Valentine's Day 2012

Mackenzie, you had a little Valentine's Day party at school and brought in Tinker Bell cards with Valentine's "chewies" to pass out to all of your friends.  According to you, everyone in your class sits in a big circle and when it was your turn, you passed out all of your cards to each on of your friends.  You designed your own little bag to collect all of your treats and your teachers even gifted you fun stuff.  Mrs. Teresa gave all the girls pony tail holders with ribbon streamers hanging down from the band.  You sported that thing several times already.  And the funny part, you're really into pig tales right now, but since we only have one special pony tail holder, you wear just the one on one side...silly girl.

Daddy came home with flowers for Mommy and a special rose for you, Mack.  He even gave you two special gifts.  Mack, you got 3 new pairs of stockings (a favorite item of clothing right now for you) and Nolan, you got a choo-choo noise maker and and a few whistles.

Not too thrilled with this whistle...
Oh wait, maybe I do like it...
You best be backin' off my train whistle.

Future Rock Star

This picture just makes me smile.  We were getting ready to pick Mack up from school and you came walking into the kitchen with shades on (upside down mind you!) and ready to go.  You thought you were hot stuff, and I tend to agree.  :)

Sleep

Nolan, you slept through the night from the day you were born forward.  Mack, you started sleeping through the night at 5 weeks old.  Nolan, we've learned that if you're tired enough, you will climb up on the couch and fall asleep.  Mack, in order for you to fall asleep, you have to be in the car, or in your own bed.  No t.v. on, no lights, no distractions.

This is by far my most favorite sleeping position to see you in.
And below I had a flash forward to you in your teens slumbering on the couch minus the "Hi-see".

All About The Pallets

As a child growing up with my cousins, we were always building forts and pallets to lay on.  I have no idea where you got the idea from, but Mack your obsessed with building big, giant pallets on the floor these days.  Every night before we go to bed, you ask to build a pallet on the floor and you most of your stuffed animals and a pillow for everyone and we all lay down and watch a show to wind down from the day.  I have to admit, it's one of my most anticipated times of the day to have all of us together like that.

We've taken the pallet making to Granma's house!  A new favorite at her house is to put blankets on top of her wooden coffee table, stack it with pillows and then get comfy.

It's pictures like this that make me so incredibly thankful about the relationship you two share.  You really are the best of friends and rarely ever fight.  And when you do, you both wind up crying and then hugging it out.  Wherever one of you is the other is not far behind.  I adore how you, Nolan, look up to Mackenzie and think she is simply the best...well, because she is the best big sister and you my little man are an amazing little brother to her.

Mackenzie's First Date

On February 4, 2012 you, Mackenzie went on your first date...with Daddy!  Our local Chick-fil-a hosted a Daddy/Daughter Date Night and I just knew I had to sign you and Daddy up.  According to Daddy it was a magical night filled with an actual wait staff and table decor complete with a table cloth, flowers, and a candle.  Apparently, you were on cloud nine and were so excited to be there.  You fell in love with an older girl's "most beautiful" dress and didn't really care for the violin players.  At one point, you asked Daddy when that scratchy music was going to stop.  You feasted on chicken nuggets, french fries and a special treat of Dr. Pepper.  The night was topped off with an ice cream sundae bar!
Granma and Uncle Matt were over and Uncle Matt was getting ready to leave for a month in a half, so you two were having a little chit-chat.
At Chick-Fil-A.  You picked out your outfit and Daddy dressed accordingly.  You were all dolled up with plastic rings to boot.  :)
It is a daily prayer of mine that you and Daddy will forever be growing in your relationship.  I often get caught up wanting to do it all, never wanting to miss out on anything, but I had to let go and let you two enjoy your alone time together.  I tend to be selfish and have a very "in charge" attitude because I want things to go my way...see what I mean about being selfish?  I'm trying to let things go and that it's only healthy for you and Daddy, and Nolan and Daddy to have a seperate relationship that doesn't always include Mommy AND Daddy.

Box Fun

Just when I thought we had enough toys to keep you two entertained for a lifetime, a box arrives in the mail and what do you guys do?  Play IN the box for several hours.  I'm not even kidding.  Mack, you immediately dumped the shredded up paper out and jumped right in pretending to be in a boat like Dora is in one of her movies.  You guys were sailing the 7 seas!  There were even cell phones involved that included conversations about where you guys were headed and to "watch out for those big waves"!
