Talking To My Doggies

When I found out that I was pregnant with Mackenzie and people starting asking questions, one of the most common questions we got was what were we going to do with our two Labs, Stetson and Nick once Mackenzie came along. Well, nothing has changed. Both dogs still sleep with Scott and me, they have the run of the house and know that their is a little person in the house now. They are allowed in Mack's room, but they honestly know that they can't rough house and they are very careful around Mack. Now that Mack is mobile, it's become a game for her to chase the dogs around the house and she's become very fond of her 2 four legged big brothers. And as most of you know, we also foster a dog and have had several different ones while I was pregnant and after Mackenzie was born. We didn't have one from Sept. 2008, until Jan. 2009 because we already had some many changes going on, we didn't want to add another dog to the mix. We're also very selective on the dogs that we bring into our home. Yes, I'm fully aware that anything can happen and dogs can turn on an instant, we are very careful with Mackenzie and any of our foster dogs. We've never had an issue with any so far and we'll continue to support our favorite dog rescue organization for as long as we can.

At Gram and Papaw's talking to her puppies. And also so proud of herself for pulling up on the door.
Having a conversation with her buddies. I think they were begging her to let them in and she was telling them that if she could reach the door knob she would!
Stetson was getting excited that Mack kept looking up the door knob, but little did he know that she couldn't reach it!
She loves her buddies.
I love this one, Chance (our latest foster) was licking the glass where Mack's hand was.

Gram's Pool

On June 14th, we headed up to Gram and Papaw's house to swim. They have a big pool in their backyard and we love it! The first couple of times we put Mack in, she screamed. The water was a touch on the chilly side so we've tried again and success! She loves to sit on the steps and splash her little heart out. She sticks her tongue out like a puppy dog and tries to drink the water.

Mackenzie and daddy have a fun game the play. She only played it with him for the longest time, but has now shown others the fun. When she gets sleepy and has her paci, she will take it out of her mouth, make a few sounds and try put it in your mouth. When she gives her paci to Scott, he makes this funny sucking noise that Mackenzie thinks is hilarious. Then she will pull it out of his mouth and put it back in hers. They will play this for awhile before she finally decides enough is enough and it's bedtime. I love the relationship that Mack and Scott are forming. He's constantly singing crazy, silly made up songs to her and now that she's getting older and stronger the rough housing has begun! He loves to do anything that will make her belly laugh and he's great at getting he to do just that.

I Say Bananas, You Say Bononos

Mackenzie has enjoyed trying all new foods except Bananas...she hates them. Her mommy or daddy aren't too fond of them either, but Mackenzie really just doesn't like them. I thought instead of giving her jarred bananas, I would give her a fresh one and see what she thought of that. At first, she didn't mind it, it was something new and she was enjoying playing with and eating the pieces, but then it hit her, she knew what she was eating and pushed all the pieces away from her to the outskirts of her tray. Well, sneaky Stetson took full advantage of the situation and decided that he would help her eat what she didn't. Mackenzie was a little surprised at first to see Stetson at her level, but then she thanked him for eating those yucky nanas.

Mack's thinking, "Hey, it's better you than me eating those things!"
I'm just going to pretend that he's not there eating my bananas.
Here Stetson, I have a little left on my fingers.

Washing it all down with some yummy apple juice, my favorite!

When You Can't Beat The Heat...

Mackenzie LOVES her baby pool! We've been filling up mid day and by the evening, it's the perfect temperture for her. She's become quiet the frog/fish and loves to splash around. This is a huge feat, because for the longest time she absolutely hated her bathtime, but since having her pool, bathtime is much for fun for all of us.

Can I have it, please?
Just a splishing and splashing.

One of the many Mack faces! Love it.

Whatchyoutalkingbout, Willis?
I think she looks so much like her daddy here!

Cake!

We had some leftover cake that had to be eaten and mommy isn't much of a cake girl and daddy already had his fair share, so we decided to let Mackenzie try some! I think it's safe to say that she absolutely loved it. It was a very special treat, but I'm glad we gave it test run before her birthday. She's a very independent eater when it comes to finger foods so we just let her go to town.

She pretty much makes this face everytime she tries something new even if she likes it.
What in the world is this?!
What? Do I have something on my face?

I must get that crumb in my mouth.

Riding Around in My Automobile

Daddy got this great idea to borrow your cousin Drew's, Powerwheel 4 wheeler. Even though there is a weight limit on it, Daddy thought he would give it a whirl and take you for your first drive...around the cul-de-sac.

Mack's Daddy is a pretty silly guy when he wants to be. We were all inside and the kids ran in to tell us we had to come out and see what was going on.
Mack loved it!
Drew and Mackadoodle.
This is so much fun!

9 Months Old!

Mackenzie has been learning so many new things lately! It's so much fun to just sit and watch her especially if she doesn't know you're doing it. She is completely mobile now and is very fast. Of course her favorite things to go after are things she can't have...cords, dog food/water, folded clothes, etc. Mack's personality has sprouted also. When she gets excited, she kicks her legs like a mad woman (maybe she'll be a soccer player)? She loves to talk to us and I really think she fully expects to know exactly what she's saying! It's so funny, once she gets on a roll, she just talks her little heart out. She's still a fantastic sleeper, usually going down by 9 p.m. and not walking up until 9/9:30 the next morning. She takes two naps a day, one from 12-2 and another one from 4-6. We've been working on getting her on more solids and she's transitioning nicely. We celebrated her 9 month birthday by going to visit Dr. Kim-and no shots this time! Only a little prick in the foot for an iron check and Mack was more upset that she had a band aide on her foot than the actually prick! Dr. Kim was very pleased with her growth, as of June 4th, she weighed 17 lbs. 15 oz. (25-50%), height 24 inches (25-50%), and head circumference 44 cm (50%)

Some fun facts about Mack:
*crawling everywhere
*pulling herself up and cruising from one piece of furniture to another
*pulling up and knowing how to get back down-this is the one that makes me so nervous! But, Mack just bends those little chubby legs and plops down
*consistantly drinking juice out of a sippy cup at supper time-she still refuses to hold the cup herself, but loves drinking out of it and will only drink out of one specific kind
*says: dada and baba and can now associate the two, has said mama on occasion and also what sounds like thank you
*playes the paci game with daddy
*speaking of pacis-only has it in the car and at bed/naptimes
*and still will go to bed with several paci's in the crib but can find the infant one-that's Mack's favorite
*when she has the paci in her mouth and she gets her night time bottle instead of spitting out the paci, she now uses her hands to get it out...this one cracks us up!
*waves when people say, "hi!" and "bye, bye!"
*LOVES puffs, cheerios, and crackers despite having no teeth
*has tried and liked cheese, yogurt, fruit bars, cake, ice cream, along with all the baby food still is not a fan of bananas

Yay! I'm 9 months old!

Just Mommy and Me having our morning playtime in my room.
Hmmm, this is where I sleep, how can I get in there from here?
I can pull myself up and get back down!
