Our Georgia Peach
There's no denying that Mackenzie loves to eat and one of her most favorite foods is peaches. Mackenzie's food schedule changed due to us trying to reduce her bottles, and since we've done that, she gets fruit when she wakes up in the mornings. As soon as you put her in her highchair, her feet start kicking and she "talks" to you until you put food in her mouth. She still has no teeth, but based on her continuously sucking on her bottom lip and smacking her tongue to her gums, we *think* teeth are soon to appear. I say *think* because this kid has been drooling like crazy since February and just when I think teeth are coming in, we wait and wait and wait, and nothing so far.

She was making the funniest noises while eating!

What do you mean the peaches are all gone?
I knew there were some more in there, you have to scrap the container, Mommy!
Ahhhhhhhh!

A Beautiful Saturday Afternoon
Aunt Kari and Uncle Mike had family in town from Louisiana, so we spent the day visiting with them. We had some remarkable weather right smack dab in the middle of July-we had no humidity and the temperature wasn't that high either...definitely spoiled us and makes me ready for the fall weather! Since the weather was unseasonably cool, we spent the whole day outside, and man, does that do a body and soul good! We played many games of corn hole, while Mackenzie enjoyed refereeing from the sidelines, and playing with her cousin's shopping cart and toys. She was so content, she never tried to venture off of the blanket, which is very unusual for her, she's usually all over the place!
Gets me every time. My heart wants to explode with joy when I see these two playing. Times like these make me fall deeper and deeper in love with my best friend.
My two most favorite people enjoying each others company.

Brotherly love during an intense game of corn hole!

A Splishing and A Splashing...
To say Mackenzie is a water baby would be an understatement-she has grown to love the water. We've been so fortunate all summer long to have many friends and family members invite to go swimming with them. Mommy finally was able to get some free time available and we spent the afternoon with mommy's most favorite 5 year old twins and 3 year old! It's amazing how much you think you love someone until you don't see them everyday. I had so much fun nannying for these kids and yes, some days were harder than others and it was a challenge to keep three kids occupied and entertained, but I loved it and miss it. Luckily, we got to spend the afternoon with Mauri, Anna, Tyler, and Molly at their neighborhood pool and Mackenzie loved playing in the fountains while the older kids enjoyed the slide. Mommy even went down it a few times with the the big kids and we all had such a fun afternoon. Mackenzie would squeal with excitement when the fountains would get too close to her face and then laugh when they went back down into the ground. Summer is quickly coming to an end and we're going to miss our pool days, but we can't wait to see what next summer is going to bring!
If there was audio for this picture, you would be able to hear her screaming with delight!
She had so much fun.

Bad picture because of the lighting, but here are my buddies!

Gram's Birthday
After the surprise birthday/4th of July party we had, Mack and Mommy decided to spend Gram's actual birthday (July 8th) with her in Flowery Branch. Since it's such a drive from our house, we usually spend the night, so we had a slumber party! Mackenzie is really enjoying trying and eating new foods and I couldn't resist posting a few of my favorites.

I can't believe how big Mack looks here, where is the newborn I just brought home? :(
Love it! Just chillin' hanging out waiting to get cleaned up from supper.
What?!

10 Months Old
We had a huge celebration on Mackenzie's 10 month birthday-we celebrated the 4th of July and Gram's birthday! And the older Mack gets, the more and more she is learning and absorbing.
Some fun facts at 10 months old:
*stood on her own for the first time at Gram's on July 8th (Gram's actual birthday), Mack was leaning on my knees while I was sitting on the floor and she leaned back and just stood there for about 5 seconds. She's done it since then, but now she gets excited, flaps her arms, and falls down!
*can go from standing or kneeling to sitting. I absolutely love looking at her when she sits on her knees so cute and makes me realize how big she's getting.
*starting to get really attached to mommy and daddy and that's fine with us!
*has started "talking" more to us. She's started this "ugh, ugh" or "ah, ah, ah" noise when she wants something. This mostly comes out at meal time, but she's done it when we put her in her pack n' play or when she wants out of something
*upped her bottle per ounce intake. She was only able to tolerate 6 oz per feeding, but since we've reduced her bottles to 3 a day now, she's up to 8 oz.
*has learned to feed the dogs! When she's done eating, she simply drops whatever she has over the edge of her highchair and laughs when the dogs eat whatever it was.
*can crawl up the stairs now. Thankfully, we don't have stairs in our house, but Aunt Kari and Uncle Mike do and she surprised us all by knowing exactly what to do when she reached them.

Mackenzie's First 4th of July
We had such a fun 4th of July! We are usually in the Outer Banks during this week, but with the economy being as bad as it has been, we decided to stick around town this year. We headed up to Flowery Branch to Gram and PaPaw's house for some pool fun and a surprise party! My step dad and I planned a surprise birthday party for my mom. Her birthday is July 8th and my step dad was going to be out of town for her actual birthday, so we quickly threw together a small party and had so much fun!
Look at those arm rolls!
Watching everyone
Checking out her sparkly shoes

This thing is soooo much fun!!!

Kennesaw Fireworks
Downtown Kennesaw had a firework show on July 3, 2009 so we decided to check them out. We knew we weren't going to be seeing any fireworks on the 4th, so we headed out to find some. We all thought we were being smart by not actually fighting traffic to get in and out of the downtown area and parked in a bank parking lot right off of highway 41. The only problem with that was, they didn't shoot the fireworks high enough into the air-bummer! Luckily, Scott had his cornhole game in his truck, so while we waited for the fireworks the games were on! We did get to see the finale and we were far enough away that the big booms didn't scare Mackenzie at all and she loved sitting with her buddy, Andy.
Mackenzie refused to look at me. I think she was afraid that Andy was going to steal her beloved Cheerios!
Getting sleepy waiting for the fireworks.
Earlier in the day, I was cleaning and I found Mackenzie not in or on, but under on of her favorite toys. Such a silly girl!
