Thanksgiving 2010 Beach Style

Instead of doing the traditional Thanksgiving this year, Mommy, Daddy, Mackenzie and Nolan headed down to Nanny and Papa's condo in Panama City Beach, Florida.  We've discovered that traveling with children can be a challenge.  We've learned to leave for our adventure around your bedtime which right now is 7:30 p.m.  Because you two were having such a great day, and Daddy got off of work a bit early, we decided to try to beat some of the traffic and left town around 4:30 p.m. and it was perfect.  Many thanks to the portable DVD player, which I'm forever thankful for, you (Mack) watched your fair share of Deigo, Dora, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  Nolan, we transitioned you into your bigger car seat about a week before our trip, and you were such a good baby.  You played with your links, and you rattles and you were a very content baby.  You're trying so hard to hold your bottle now too, so even feeding you was a breeze.  Thanksgiving Day, Gramma and Pawpa came down too and rented a condo in the same complex and as soon as they got there, they hit the beach with us.  Yes, it was far too cold for any of us except your crazy Daddy to get into the water, but we had so much fun playing on the beach and enjoying each other's company.  Daddy and you (Mack) even got to take a dip in the heated pool.  Since we were doing the untraditional thing, we didn't even have turkey for dinner.  Daddy made the most amazing standing rib roast, and I made tater tot casserole, green bean casserole, and Grandma made yams.  For dessert I made apple cake for the first time, and it was so yummy!

 It makes my heart happy and I smile just thinking about how much you love the beach, sand, ocean, and shells just as much as I do!

 Nolan, you melt me.  Those eyes are my most favorite along with all of those sweet rolls on you.

 Your sweet sister wore this same outfit for her first Thanksgiving.

 Mackenzie, you crack me up.
