13 Months

Well, October came and went and now it's November!  Classes this semester have been very tough on me and I've struggled since the first day.  I had a set number of classes I had to take in order to start my first portion of student teaching in January and unfortunately, it's been very difficult.  The classes themselves aren't tough as far as content goes, it's just the work load is insane.  I've struggled with just throwing the towel in and giving up, or trucking through.  I'm not a quitter hence why after NINE years I'm still in school to get my bachelors degree, but I've really felt like I've neglected every aspect of my family since August.  Mackenzie has bounced around from friend and family to friend and family while I get tutoring, observing, and class work done all while I've felt awful for doing such.  Thankfully, Mack has loved every minute of playing with her friends and all the love she receives from family.  And I can't forget Scott, but I often do.  The poor guy has taken my stinky attitudes, mood swings, and lack of house chores so well.  I know it's going to get worse before it gets better, but I can finally say that I will have a diploma in hand come December 2010.  Finally.

Now onto Ms. Mack.  Since the day she was born, she has shown us that she has some personality and it's only blossomed more and more the older she has gotten.  She amazes me every single day and not a day goes by that I don't laugh uncontrollably about something she has said or done.  We were a month behind on getting to the doctor for her 12 month check up, but this is how she's doing: Weight-22 lbs. 1 oz. 50%, height-29 inches 25-50%, head circumference-44 inches 50%  We were very pleased with her weight gain and it's no surprise that she's in the 25-50% for height, if she was anything else I would question it.

*Started walking 2 weeks after her 1st birthday.  She never took one or two steps, she just took off one day!
*Says, mama, da, bawwwwl=ball, Ju=juice
*Sleeps 11-12 hours a night.  Takes 2 naps first one for 2-3 hours from 11 a.m.-1ish p.m. second one for about 45 min. to 1 hour from 5ish p.m.-6ish p.m.
*Only has two bottom teeth, but the top FOUR are right there and refuse to break through the skin.
*In early October had her first scary fever.  It reached 102 and after calling the doctor, he suggested to keep her hydrated, let her sleep and if the fever didn't break with the help of medicine then bring her in.  He didn't want us to bring her to him, because it seemed that a whole lot of children were sick with the flu and they were extremely backed up at the office.
*Is still eating pureed food, but starting to eat more solids.  It's difficult for her to eat meats and such with only two teeth.

Mackenzie and Daddy the day she was so sick.  This is one of the few times she wanted to snuggle all day long, and we loved it.
