15 Months

Let me just start off by saying, I've cheated Mackenzie out of a month of her life!  I've been walking around for the past few weeks telling people that my child is 14 months old!  Wow...that just goes to show how out of it I've been lately.  Once I realized the mistake I was making, I wanted to cry.  I felt so silly, but oh well, apparently I don't know how to add!  And when I asked Scott why he was letting me walk around telling people that he said, "I knew she was 15 months, but you confused me and your her mom and mom's are always right!"  Not this time!!  Now that Mackenzie is 15 months old, she has become so independent.  She has started to slim down a bit, which makes me a little sad to see her baby fat disappear.  I love the rolls on her arms and legs, but I'm happy to see that she's getting all the exercise and activity she needs for her age.  She's in constant motion now, rarely ever sitting still for longer than a moment.  In late November, she started pointing at our noses and saying, "noooose?"  Now she points to her or our noses, eyes, ears, mouth, hair, toes, and feet.  I have no idea why she started this, and I feel so guilty saying this, but I haven't been sitting down with her pointing at my nose saying, "Mack, this is my nose."  It's as if she just picked it up hearing everyone else talk.  And she will try to poke your eyes out, so you better watch out for her!  When you ask her where her eyes are, she does this funny thing where she closes her eyes really tight, opens them, and rolls them all around.  She loves to "Go, go" and when we leave to go anywhere she shouts, "GO!  GO!!"  She's talking up a storm and it amazes me (and everyone else for that matter) how much and what she's saying.

So far she can say: Mama, Daddy, Abeeee (Abby), Mamie (Jamie), Dew (Drew), sheyou (shoe), hox (socks)...this one cracks me up, because she whispers it and it gets me everytime!, Nick, Detdin (Stetson), ball, beep beep, toot toot, treeeee, poon (spoon), ork (fork), geeuice (juice), cooo-kie, beeeeeds (beads), when the phone rings, she says, "low?" and my absolute favorite is baybee (baby)...she loves to look at pictures of baybee's and she points to herself at all the pictures in our house and says, "baybee!"  And for a first, we were shopping on Saturday and she saw a baybee in a stroller and said, "Look, baybee!"  I told her, "yes, that's a baby and look, the baby is sleeping."  Mackenzie immediately responded with shhhhhh!  So stinkin' cute!

Mack loves to sing "Happy Birthday To You" it doesn't matter who we're singing it to, Mack bobs her head back and forth while swaying her body and singing, "Haay birdayyy to you" over and over and over.  She also loves to play Pat-A-Cake.  She gets really excited about "rolling it" causing whoever to sing super fast, but that just makes Mack laugh even harder.  The second she hears anyone singing this, she stops what she's doing and starts clapping her hands.

I'm loving all the time I'm getting with her right now and I'm really trying to spend as much time having fun and soaking it all up before classes start again.  I loved being able to be with her all throughout her short life so far, but now that she's interacting and exploring it's so hard to leave her.

Mackenzie and her beloved bike.  She's yet to use it for what it's intended for, because her legs are so short, but let me just tell you, she can climb all over this thing and she has an absolute blast on it!  "See mommy, you start like this..."

"And then you hold on tight, tight and climb over!"  *Notice how she has the baby monitor in the basket?  She thinks it's a phone.

And who could forget the beads?  They go everywhere with us.
