First Plane Ride and Day 1 in Rancho Ocho, CA (4th of July)

We took a spur of the moment trip to California to visit Daddy's side of the family at the very beginning of July.  This meant the first plane ride for both of you!!  We booked our tickets right at your bed time since it was a 5 hour flight and once we got to California, we had a 2 hour car ride to the camp site.  To say you two were perfect would be an understatement.  You guys did awesome on the plane even though we were delayed for awhile on the plane in Atlanta and once we started to land in LAX, they lost all power in the communication tower and we had the possibility of flying to Las Vegas or Phoenix.   Thank goodness after a few minutes of circling around we were able to land in LAX!

On the bus on the way to the airport!
Right before take off!  Funny story: as we were taking off, Nolan, you threw your hands up in the air and shouted, "To 'finity and e-ond!" over and over and over again!  Everyone around us thought it was so cute.
After our first night at the camp site, we were awake, well rested and ready to play!
All 3 of you playing together, but not really.
California weather is funny.  It was cold in the mornings and then very hot and dry by mid day, this made for some curly hair!
 Making mud pies.
If you only knew how many times those cheese puffs fell on the ground...
 There's the boots and shorts!
Mack, you disappeared and sent me into a panic, after a very short search, this is where we found you.

You two with Uncle Ted getting ready to meet the horses!
Nolan meeting JJ for the first time.
We found out on this trip that you're a cowboy at heart.  You loved the horsies!

 Junior wanting some loving.
 God's country.

If there was a split rail fence, Nolan, you were on it.

Having a picnic with your cousins.
We found a river and went searching for tad poles.

 Happy 4th of July!
The kids loved that Teddy had his iPad with games on it.
Nolan, you melted my heart when you fell asleep like this.  We don't get to do this very often anymore.

 Abby and Mack on JJ!

Happy 4th of July, CA style!
