Santa Monica, CA

On our last full day at Rancho Oso, we decided to go visit the Pacific ocean.  Mommy has never been to it, so of course neither have you two.  Just our family of 4 went to Santa Monica for the day and we had so much fun!  When we left Rancho at 10:30 a.m., it was 82 degrees, we drove up and over the mountains down to the coast, and when we reached Santa Monica, it was foggy and a balmy 60 degrees!  Luckily, we brought our towels just in case we were to go in the ocean, and instead, we used the towels as blankets!
A neat skate park right along the shore.  These kids weren't much older than you two.
See those little sailboats?  There were kids on them!
At the end of the pier...Daddy was FREEZING!

This picture doesn't do it justice, this lovely pelican was the size of a small child!
 Stearns Wharf

 Crazy, happy you!
 And you too!
Nolan, you found a bug on the ground and just stood there watching it.

 Love you two so much!

Walking out to the jetty.  On the left side, you can see how calm the water is.  On the right side, the waves were actually crashing up and OVER the wall!
At the end of the jetty looking at Stearns Wharf.

We had lunch in an old lighthouse turned pizza joint.
Finallly!  The sun and blue clouds appeared and it started to warm up just in time for a walk in the water.

The water was like ice cubes!  And you crazy, Mack wanted to swim!  I think not.
On the road back to Rancho.  That big open field in the center is right where the campsites were that we stayed at.

Nolan, you traded your shorts and "crock flops" for jeans and cowboy boots!

Rancho has a small barn area with very stinky farm animals.

You and "Wexi" checking out the huge pig.
Uncle Ted taking JJ for a ride.  Notice, Nolan on the fence?  :)
 Happy to be on JJ!

Now it's Mack's turn on JJ!

Taking a walk with Aunt Kari.
I never got bored with the scenery.

You two were covered in dirt!

 Jamie riding JJ around.
Anything became a horsie, such as the picnic table bar.

This just shows how dusty is was there.  My camera was covered with dirt!
After a long, hard day of playing, these 2 were down for the count...
but not far behind was Jack Jack...
and now there are 4 little monkeys laying on the bed.
 And they're out!  Sweet dreams!
